How do I audition for Dance Ensemble?
Auditions are relaxed and low key. At the beginning of each semester auditions will be held. At the auditions we stretch as a group and learn about 1 minute of choreography, taught by the Dance Ensemble Board. Dancers will then perform the choreography in small groups. Each dancer will fill out a form indicating their level of dance (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced) and their strongest types of dance (Lyrical, Ballet, Hip-Hop, R&B). Dancers identifying as Advanced will be required to stay after regular auditions to showcase various skills (Splits, Leaps, Scales, Pirouettes, Fouettes). Note: you will not be asked to audition alone, auditions will always be in a group.
How do I become a choreographer for Dance Ensemble?
Choreographers must audition 1 minute of their dance (most difficult choreography is preferred) on an audition date determined by the Dance Ensemble Board. They need to fill out a Choreographer Proposal Form and bring it with them to their audition. Choreographers must have been in Dance Ensemble at least 1 semester prior to becoming a Choreographer.
